I know I swore off Morrison in my previous post, but I wanted to know if either of these stories are worth checking out. I mean, the man isn't completely lacking in talent, is he? He keeps getting hired for these big projects, he has to have done something good. I liked JLA: One Million, if I recall. I at least didn't hate it. I hate to miss a great Bat story just because I don't like the writer. Either of these count as great?

As horrible as 'Batman RIP' is, 'The Return of Bruce Wayne' is worse. I read it TWICE and still have no frickin' idea what it was about. The ONLY good thing to come out of 'Return' was some pretty nifty action figures and a Bruce Wayne that was less of a buzzkill and more of a cool guy - only THOSE characterizations came AFTER Morrison left the title and new people were left to pick up the pieces. 'Batman INC.' is good. I am so glad Morrison had nothing to do with that story arc.
Cal-Now you have my train wreck watching attention drawn. Crap, just requested it from the library, but also requested Batman and Robin vol. 1, which is supposed to be something good by Morrison.
The combination of Damien Wayne as Robin and Dick Grayson as Batman is fresh and new. The villains, however are REALLY stupid and will not become rogue's gallery favorites. Proffesor Pyg? Yeh.
If they put out the trade of all the ONE SHOTS they did when Bruce 'Returns' and chooses to check in on all the Bat Family before telling them all that he is back, you should get that one. It is really good too. His new ultra high tech batsuit is cool. And there is one panel, where he gives Red Robin (Tim, who never gave up on Bruce) a hug - that moment is worth all the Morrison suffering and then some.
I love these days when you can get a comic book trade from the libray.
Wish I didn't have to get them from the library. But they are a bit expensive now. I did drop by the comic store this weekend and got Wolverine and Jubilee #2 and got my oldest a copy of Wonder Girl #1.
I have said it before, you are one of the good ones.
I download all my comics now. I have 12000 in my collection but I couldn't justify the cost anymore. I don't feel guilty one bit. The companies priced themselves right out of business.
Sorry, I haven't read either of them.
