Anne McCaffrey passed away on Monday. She died from stroke in her home in Ireland. She was 85 years old. She is probably best known for her fantasy series Pern. Pern took place in a world where people rode dragons. Although I have never read any of her books, she was considered one of the greatest fantasy authors of the 20th century. Her works inspired many. She will be remembered fondly.

Whoa...I can't believe it. I think I'm going to have to tank through some more Pern books in her memory....
I've read a few of her books. I'm not really much of a fantasy fan, but she was pretty good.
I wrote earlier this year, that DRAGONS OF PERN have been bought for a movie adaptation, hope this might speed up the project?
