Wolverine and Jubilee - A to Z- New Comic Content Wednesday

It was destiny.  I had no idea that two of my favorite characters were doing a team up.  I knew that Jubilee was one of the mutants depowered by the events of house of M.  I had heard she was now a vampire, but I hadn't read any recent X-Men storylines.  I stopped by the comic shop to just burn some time, and there it was. 

Wolverine and Jubilee #1.  The cover is pretty awesome, even if it would confuse a new reader as to which one is wolverine and which is Jubilee. 
The first issue is really good.  The writers capture that great dynamic between the two characters and bring them together in a unique way.  The second issue is still pretty good, but I was getting tired of emo Jubilee. The third issue starts the adventure and is okay.  The fourth issue ends the adventure and could have been better. 

Overall, the series was a bit rushed.  They had four issues to tell a story.  The key dynamic is the realtionship between Jubes and Logan.  As the series gets away from that it becomes less fun.  If they would have done a six or twelve issue arc with the same story, they could have told it better and actually had, I don't know, Wolverine and Jubilee actually together for more than a few panels in the third and fourth books.  The series starts strong and ends weaker.  It may read different in trade form and I may have to go back and read it all at once to see. 

New Comic Content Wednesdays- Jubilee

Yes, she is my favorite, and I don't care what you say.  I don't care if she is a vampire now.  Jubilee was my Kitty Pryde.  The hand drawn one is from my then 5 year old.  Anyone know of any good Jubilee cosplay pics, I couldn't find any. *UPDATE:  found a girl that captures the spirit of Jubilee, if in fact she doesn't have the costume exact and she isn't Asian. 

5 year old X-Men

Ever since we watched the X-Men Cartoon the girls have been on superhero overdrive.  They even started drawing them.  I got them some books from the library on drawing and have been trying to help them.  Ally is only 5 and here are her X-Men.  The one without a name is Beast.  Notice the card in gambits hand.  Jubilee has glasses on her head and apparently has a new mutation that takes off her arms and gives her a giraffe neck.  She even designed new matching uniforms for the team.  Look out Marvel.  The future is coming from my house.

Comic Book Crushes

Although it isn't a guaranteed thing.  Most teenage boys that read comics are going to develop a crush on one of the female characters in the comic books.  Most people from the outside looking in will think that the crush will be on the more shapely characters such as Wonder Woman, the bad girls like Catwoman, or a mixture of the two like Vampirella.  While the teenage boy definitely appreciates the artistic renderings of these characters, these are not the ones that he will develop crushes on.
